Spring Necklace Design Contest

Official Rules & Logistics

Rules

  • Only one entry per person.
  • Each entry must consist of:
    • At least two photos of necklace: One of it laid out and one must be of
      someone wearing necklace
    • List of gemstones, elements, and beads used to make necklace
  • Your contact information: Name & Phone Number
  • Only complete entries will be considered.
  • Necklace must be 100% handmade, not a re-make of an already established necklace.
  • Each applicant must “Like” us on Facebook in order to win.
  • Not open to The Crazy Merchant, Inc. employees.
  • The Crazy Merchant, Inc. employees are NOT allowed to help you on your entry at all!

Judging Criteria

  • Style: Is the composition aesthetically pleasing?
  • Composition: Is it put together well with good techniques? Does it look complete? 
     Is it well made?
  • Wearability: Does it “sit” right? Is it easy to put on/take off (clasp technique)? 
  • How is it worn (single strand, double strand, has multiple clasps?)? Is the piece versatile?
  • Creativity: This can be described as using ordinary materials in a new way, combining colors
    and shapes in pleasant but unexpected ways, and connecting pieces in a unique way.
  • Overall aesthetics

Winners

There will be MULTIPLE winners. All winners will receive a prize. Grand prize is a
gift certificate to The Crazy Merchant, Inc. (denominations to be announced) and
a gift certificate for a style assessment to Kristin Golden Image Consulting (an $85 value). 
Winners will be announced on Facebook on June 1st.

Paint a pig to benefit Families First.

Throughout the year.... the piggy banks

are adopted all over the Denver area

and are filled with change that is

donated to Families First.

Larger "Designer" Piggy Banks

are the "Pigs on Pedestals."

They are sponsored by corporations

and individuals; they are painted by

professional artists; and then auctioned

off at the "Country Fair" held annually each July.

The Pigs on Pedestals are on display mid-June through July 4th weekend at the
Park Meadows Shopping Center. This is all part of "The Drive for Community Change,"
a fundraiser that benefits Families First.

BEADING CLASSES

Learn the FUNdamentals of

creating your own jewelry!

Where: The Crazy Merchant, Inc. Conference Room



When: Classes with expert instruction are held on the
2nd (Level 101) and 3rd (Level 201) Thursday evenings of
every month. Starts at 6:30 PM and ends at 8:30 PM.

What: Learn everything you need to know in order to

bead a beautiful necklace that you can proudly
wear home that night!

How much: $25 Class Fee includes the cost of expert

instruction and all of the materials you will need in order

to create your finished necklace. All of the tools needed
for beading will be available for your use during class.

How many: Class size is limited to seven students.

Reserve your spot(s) early…it’s a great activity for
friends and family!

You may pay at the door the night of your class.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance and give
someone on the Waiting List an opportunity to attend the class.
